I’m a big fan of tower defence games, I’ve been playing web versions for a long time now; so when I downloaded Sentinel I wasn’t disappointed. With polished graphics and a haunting soundtrack, you will soon find yourself enjoying the action. The simple interface and straight-forward control system makes it easy to implement the towers and will allow novice players to pick it up instantly.

Once loaded, your presented with a choice of 4 arenas, 2 players modes (Assault & Endurance) and 4 difficulty modes (easy, medium, hard, psycho). Your objective is to hold off the invasion by strategically placing the weapons/towers onto the landscape. Different arenas allow you to implement different weapon types.

Throughout the game, you can upgrade or demolish (sell) your weapons/towers to protect and reposition your defences and destroy the aliens.

Origin8 have added a great spin on the TD genre by placing barrier defences that the attackers must destroy before they can assault the main base to win the game. There is also the addition of robot drones (max of 3) which can be bought to repair the structures and mine for more money.

There is a sequel available, which I haven’t played yet, but for now, this my tower defence game of choice and I highly recommend it.
