SplitApple is a fun archery game of skill and patience, which gamers will enjoy, especially puzzle fans as you need to keep a cool head and calm composure. The controls are straightforward, you simply drag the zoom button to choose your level of zoom and then tilt the device to position your focus and then release the zoom button to fire your arrow. Gamers of all ages can easily grasp these controls but it takes time to develop and perfect your archery skills.

With 4 different game modes to choose from there is more than enough content to keep you interested, our current favourite mode is Time Trial mode where you must perform well under pressure. Try and beat our score of 408 on Game Center (APPZILLA) if you think you can. There is also the fairly hard task of ’splitting an apple’ growing from the tree in the game environment’s background. Judge the distance and wind velocity to gain important bonus points to get your name on the leaderboard.

A fantastically 3d rendered environment and slick animation make this a joy to look at while you contend with firing your arrows accurately as possible. Plus the audio and sfx complement the game well and keep you engaged.

I love tower defense and dual-action shooters and never thought SplitApple would grab my interest. However, it is a fantatisc game to relax to, even calming but with the right blend of pace and action especially when you play to beat the time.

If you haven’t got an archery game then SplitApple is a must have game. If you do, then for 69p it’s a top game anyway!
