Temple Run 2

I thoroughly enjoyed Temple Run and like millions of others, I spent hours trying to reach (run) the furthest distance I could. 2013 brings the first of, perhaps many, sequels to the smash hit game.

After powering up the game and diving straight in, there is a in-game tutorial, much like the first version, as they have introduced zip lines – nice one! So immediately we’re presented with something new and already that gets the adrenaline pumping, well ready to pump at least. The graphics have also been updated and as you zip down the line you see that the landscape (reminds me of the Great Wall of China now) has been rendered to look a lot more organic. Imangi have made a conscious effort in adding more depth, curves and a up and down motion to the run of the character. This is a real positive but also what gamers will expect to improve on the original.

Overall Temple Run 2 is a good solid runner, fans of the first will love it, and gamers who weren’t part of the 170 million will really enjoy it. I’m somewhere in the middle, could this game have been simply an update to the first? It feels a little like they’ve ramped up the need to use IAPs and made it more about ‘cashing in’ than delivering a new game.

I’m not wasting my time with this, nothing really new I’ve moved on!
